Things kick off Thursday night with a Special Music event at Haymarket Square. Metro Big Band will start things off in style playing from 6-8pm. For more information on them please visit: http://www.metrobigband.org/ Bring a lawn chair and come and enjoy. I've heard great things about them.
Friday night is full of things to do. At 5:30pm there will be a ribbon cutting and community celebration for the completion of the Delaware Streetscape Project. It will be held at the intersection of 5th street and Delaware in the Downtown area. Following there will be a Street Dance featuring 50's and 60's music.
At 6:00pm Jazz at Haymarket Square will start for those wishing to enjoy and evening of Jazz. At 6:00pm - Chris Burnett Quartet. At 7:00pm - Toni Gates Ensemble. 8:00pm - Roger Wilder Quintet.
On the Main Stage at Cherokee & Esplanade you will find more music. County Road 5 will play from 6:30-8:00pm. Hole in the Wall Gang from 8:30-11:00pm.
And between all these you will find vendors and other booths to enjoy.
Saturday starts off a 5K River Run, a Pancake Breakfast (if your not staying at the Prairie Queen), Farmers Market, Flea Market, Art Show and the dedication of the newly completed Haymarket Square Pavilion and the Three Mile Creek Trail. Ceremony begins at 11:00am. There will be more music throughout the day at all the venues: Haymarket Square and the Main Stage. Food, fun, and entertainment for the whole family.
We hope to see you there. Bob and I will be either at the B&B or working one of the activities for Main Street. If you can't come here pick something around Kansas and get out and enjoy.
